What’s gone? What’s here? A look at President Biden’s first executive orders.

Now President Biden had plenty of executive orders on his first day, but I will only go over a few. Let’s start with the Paris Climate Accord. The accord was created in 2016 to create a long term plan to keep the rise of average global temperature under 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit, by lowering emissions. Many Democrats are a big supporters of the agreement and that is why myriad were upset when President Trump withdrew from the agreement in June of 2017. That all changed on January 20th of this year when President Biden agreed to rejoin the Paris Climate Accord, in one of his first executive orders.

The second executive order I’ll discuss is Biden’s mask mandate. It is now a requirement that people must wear masks during commercial transportation. People must also wear a mask on federal grounds. Some Republicans are going after President Biden for breaking his mask mandate hours after signing it. President Biden was at the Lincoln Memorial without a mask and some feel it’s hypocrisy.

President Biden also reversed President Trump’s travel ban on 13 countries. Those countries were all Muslim majority. Many Democrats called the travel ban (or as many Liberals called it, the Muslim Ban) racist and Islamophobic. Well, President Biden changed that, but what is ironic is that President Obama put a very similar travel ban in place during his Presidency.

I hope you enjoyed the story! Be sure to comment with any critiques. I love to learn how I could make my content better.
