Classical Music: Improving Your Life One Chord at a Time


Classical music is extremely relaxing and has benefits you may not expect. It seems like it wouldn’t be much other than maybe helping you go to sleep, which it does, but there is so much more to classical music. It even helps with chronic pain! There are so many benefits, many of which you may not expect!


It is common knowledge that classical music is relaxing and is nice to go to sleep to. That is true, many nights I listen to classical music and feel better in the morning. I would definitely recommend putting together a 30 minute playlist to listen to as you go to sleep. Classical music can also help you focus! There are times, when doing school I like to listen to classical music. Usually you would think that listening to music when trying to focus in school would be a bad thing. Usually that would be correct, but classical music actually helps you focus.


There are even health benefits. Did you know that in 2006 a study showed that those who had chronic pain, had less pain after listening to classical music than those who didn’t? Now a days you are destined to be stressed about something. Especially, if you watch the news! Classical music helps reduce stress and helps you feel more at peace. It’s like yoga for your ears. Classical can even lower blood pressure. An Oxford study showed that test participants blood pressure dropped substantially after listening to 25 minutes of classical music.


I understand that many may consider the genre of classical music boring. There is so much more to it though. Fur Elise may not be your thing, but did you know there are covers of your favorite songs done by classical instruments? Bands such as, the Piano Guys or 2Cellos do instrumentals on many songs, even AC/DC! This kind of classical music may help you transition to the wonders of piano cello and more.
